Test Description:TPMT genotyping determine an individual's genetic variation in the TPMT gene. This gene encodes for an enzyme that plays a role in the metabolism of thiopurine drugs, such as azathioprine and mercaptopurine, which are commonly used to treat autoimmune disorders and leukemia.
Methodology:PCR-Sanger sequencing analysis of TPMT gene 4 common TPMT variants (TPMT*2 , TPMT*3A, TPMT*3B and TPMT*3C)
